Opening Title Sequence
Fantastic Mr. Fox
I created a 30-second animated credit sequence based on “Fantastic Mr. Fox.” Our final cinematic includes four key scenes featured in the movie, with a contrasting text in the foreground introducing the films character and voice actor. My role in this project was to sketch and illustrate the vector elements. I compiled my designs into four style frames to show a glimpse of the final stages during our process.

Our goal for the final work was to be an opening title sequence that resembled one that you would see in a well-known Wes Anderson film: Fantastic Mr. Fox. Made in 2009, Fantastic Mr. Fox was one of many stop motion animated films that Anderson would come to produce, and in our animated sequence we aimed to execute an alternate version to the existing title sequence in the movie.

Design Process
With an extensive analysis of the Fantastic Mr. Fox film, we were able to start designing style frame concepts for our final animatic. Vanessa and I carefully considered the layout, colour palette and visual unity to best represent our inspiration. These vector elements would then be imported and animated in Adobe After Effects.
Reflection
Our original plan for the final look of our animatic to be more reminiscent of Wes Andersons stop motion animation films, and have the scenes be made entirely from paper. Unfortunately due to time restrictions, we weren't able to make a physical rendition like we had hoped.
I still considered myself a beginner in motion graphics, but upon reaching the end of this project I discovered the impact that moving elements can have to your designs. I was able to exercise my creative skills more in this project with vector design, and throughly enjoyed what came of it.
